STRUCTURE OF LIVING THINGS (CHAPTER 1 ELEMENTARY SCIENCE 7,SINDH TEXTBOOK BOARD)

Q1  Describe the function of vocuole in unicellular organisms?

Ans:- Vacuoles are storage bubbles found in cells. They are found in both animal and plant cells but are much larger in plant cells. Vacuoles might store food or any variety of nutrients a cell might need to survive. They can even store waste products so the rest of the cell is protected from contamination. Eventually, those waste products would be sent out of the cell.

Q2  Give four functions of a cell membrane.

Ans:- The four functions of a cell membrane are.

1)  It   surrounds the cytoplasm of living cells.
2)   It encloses the nucleus of living cells.
3)  Water ,oxygen, carbondioxide and food that enter a cell have to pass through it.
4) Water ,oxygen, carbondioxide and food that leave a cell have to pass through it.

Q3  Draw an example of one organism that fits into each of the following four cells.

Ans :- Chalamydomonas-------unicellular plant
           Amoeba----------------unicellular animal
            Hydra.------------------- multicellular plant.
             Horse--------------------multicellular animal
